About
I treat each client as a unique individual with unique needs. How I work with each individual varies according to the needs of the individual. I try to be flexible and completely open to the clients worldview and what they are wanting to get out of counseling. I view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership in which we work together to reach goals that have been chosen by the client. I work well with all genders and age groups. I work best with clients who are fully committed to feeling better. I have had success with men who are dealing with depression and a lack of satisfaction with life.
I specialize in anxiety and depression management, codependency and developing healthy relationships, self-esteem and confidence building, couples and family therapy, and various women and men issues. I believe in giving clients the tools and knowledge they need to take back control of their mental health and create the change they want in their lives.
I find that authenticity and empathy are the two most important things for a counselor to possess. My goal is to provide a safe place for clients to grow and heal, and am always looking for ways to improve my ability to provide that. I have had my own personal struggles that I have overcame, and this is a factor that helps me truly understand the client.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During the first session I take time to get to know the client and what the client would like to get out of counseling. I provide a variety of assessments and gather information to help guide the development of a treatment plan. This first session is a lot like the beginning of a partnership in which the client and I work together to create a plan that fits the clients needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in the fields of mental health and social work since 2004. I earned my BS in Psychology and MS in Mental Health Counseling at Missouri State University, I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. I have had training and experience in working with clients of all ages and mental health concerns.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My prices range from $75-110 an hour depending on the service. I offer a $50 rate for those with medicaid since I am not currently taking insurance. I am in the process of getting on other insurance panels.
How did you get started in this business?
I have wanted to work in mental health since I was a teenager. I have been on my own personal journey of facing depression, anxiety, PTSD, and low self-esteem. I know first hand how life changing therapy can be when you are willing to do the work to create healing and change. It is my goal to give that opportunity to others within my community and the surrounding areas.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with clients of all ages with a wide range of diagnoses and concerns. Some of these areas include anxiety, social anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, identity issues, relationship issues, codependency, personality disorders, substance abuse and addiction, grief, ADHD, child giftedness, performance anxiety in athletes, and more.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find someone who will treat you as an individual and not give you a cookie cutter approach to treatment. Additionally, I suggest finding someone you feel comfortable with and can trust.
