About
I am currently a full-time professional and treating PT Clinician, a PT Private Practice Owner, a physical therapist Expert Witness for court proceedings. In 1980, I obtained a Diploma Degree in Physical Therapy from the Amman Jordan-University of Jordan-Para Medical Institute. From 1981 to 1983 I was part of the Jordanian Military Sports Council where I helped to establish a fitness and recovery program that increased the longevity of high activity athletes and improved the rehabilitation rates and times from severe injuries. In 1983, I entered into a three-year physical therapist contract with Whitaker Saudi Arabia Hospital Corporation in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. I worked in several departments such as Orthopedic Rehab, Cardiac Rehab, Respiratory Rehab, ICC Unit and Nehru Rehab/Traumatic Brain Injuries. I was able to research and develop various therapeutic techniques aimed at increasing rehabilitation while decreasing the amount of down time needed. When that contract ended, in 1986, I opened my own facility named The Jordan Rehab Specialty in Jordan until 1992. The facility focused on both pre and post-surgical care. It gave me complete autonomy over my methods and therapy, which allowed me to grow as a physical therapist. It was after this experience that I traveled to the United States in 1992 and worked at Physicians Physical Therapy Services to get acclimated to doing the job I loved in a new culture. I used the four years at this facility to get comfortable with American business practices, medical billing codes, and procedures that were previously unavailable to me. As I grew confident with my understanding of American medical policies and procedures I felt it was time to open my own office. In 1996, I founded the Universal Rehabilitation Services in Algonac, MI. which is still open and operating smoothly. In 2009, I began consulting as an expert witness in the physical therapy industry. I now have over 19 years of experience as a physical therapy expert witness for both plaintiff and defense cases. I own a wide array of business skills in the areas of: strategic planning, financial management, operations, marketing, project management, human resource management, and business development. I have developed each of these skills as an owner operator of a rehabilitation facility.
