About

My background is in both coaching and counseling. I am able to provide a unique blend of both services depending upon where a client is at in the discovery and process of self-change.

My passion is to walk with people through their "story" and to help them "create new beginnings..."

My counselor Randall was easy to talk to and made it easy for me to get the help I needed.

Randy is consistent and professional. He is very flexible and accommodating towards the flow of our sessions. Randy has the ability to make connections and understandings about life, that I have been unable to come to on my own. Randy has excellent insights and perceptions to help you along your path in life.

He helped me to get perspective on my job search. Very helpful to talk to someone and get feedback from someone that I don’t know. It was a good experience.

    Frequently asked questions

I often describe myself as a "Triage" therapist meaning that I am adept and comfortable jumping right into my clients' story without requiring extensive background knowledge and paperwork.  In other words, when I first meet with clients, my first question is "What brings you here today?" and my second question is "What would be important for me to know in order to help you?"  I pride myself in keeping intake paperwork to a minimum so that I can truly focus upon listening to my clients and fully attuning to and understanding their concerns and dilemmas.

My areas of expertise are Career Counseling/Coaching, Marriage & Relationship Counseling, and Trauma/Abuse Counseling.  I have been working full-time in Career Development for nearly the past 20 years providing personalized, individual career counseling/coaching and group outplacement services.

While I do not bill insurance directly, I do provide a highly-flexible sliding-scale arrangement intended to accommodate each client's personal family budget.  With that said, my conversation with clients begins with "what can you afford?"  Since each client's financial situation is unique, it is important for them to assess their individual financial situation (inlcuding insurance deductibles/copays, etc.) so that counseling does not create an additional financial burden.

I decided to become a Counselor because I have been a "client" for so long (I first started in counseling at age 16 for major depression).  I have participated in faith-based and secular counseling; lay and professional counseling; group, individual, marital and family counseling.  I have worked with Coaches, Counselors, Psychologists and Psychiatrists.  To say that I know what it's like being on the "other" side of the table/chair would be a tremendous understatement =)  In fact, one of my greatest strengths that I bring as a Therapist is the fact that I have spent so much time receiving my own personal counseling.
