About
Hello and welcome! I have been in the field for over 20 years, and I look forward to getting to know you and hearing your unique story. My training includes a BA from Colgate University, and a MSW and Post Graduate Degree in Addiction from Boston University. While the education and training are important, I believe the most important quality I bring to my practice is a genuine sense of caring, compassion and desire to be of service to each and every client.
Whether its anxiety, relationship conflicts, depression, job or parenting stress, substance abuse, grief/loss, or general life stressors that bring you to therapy, I will provide a warm, safe, and supportive space for us to work together to sort through patterns, beliefs and behaviors which may no longer serve you. We will explore healthier ways of coping, interacting and managing emotions, utilizing a strengths-based, eclectic approach including CBT, DBT and other modalities.I like to hear from clients about what they want to get out of counseling. This will set the stage for the goals we establish for our work together, recognizing that these goals may change and adapt as we move through the process. I see my role as a guide, facilitator, sounding board, outside perspective, resource and support. I believe that every client has the ability to develop insight and awareness crucial for making the changes they want to see in their lives.
