About
I am a substance use counselor. I work with people who are ready for their lives to change. Therapy is an uncomfortable business and it requires honesty and action. The rewards are often greater than we can imagine... if we are willing to do the work. Recovery from addiction can provide some immediate and noticeable benefits, but the greatest gifts come from learning how to live differently, from a deeper place inside of us that we may not yet even be able to access. This is the process of discovery I take on with my clients.
I define healing as a continuing movement toward self-acceptance, harmony and compassion; my goal is to assist each client to use their innate understanding and wisdom to move towards health, and away from illness, on all levels.
The therapeutic process may involve a variety of techniques, including: development of communication and life skills; changes to attitude, outlook or thought patterns; guided imagery; breath work; reframing; affirmation; meditative instruction; medication review and education; diet and lifestyle changes.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first session is always free. I want clients to get a feel for who I am and what I do before making any financial commitment. I will answer any questions they have and we will talk about why they are seeking treatment. The most important part of an initial consult is to find out if there is a fit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My clinical education is as a Doctor of Pharmacy. This included extensive training in patient consultation and medication review. My experience with substance use includes being a person in recovery myself for a number of years, as well as working for an in-patient treatment center.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I am an out-of-network provider, meaning I do not bill insurance. My standard fee is $125 for a 50min session. I also work on a sliding-scale and do my best to accomodate clients' needs on an individual basis.
How did you get started in this business?
I started by getting clean and sober myself, with the help of many others in the recovery community. I found a passion for individual and group counseling while working at an in-patient treatment facility for substance use. I decided to transition my background in pharmacy into helping people with substance use and addiciton issues.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with teens and adults of all gender identities. I work with people who are sincere about taking action and are willing to participate in changing their lives.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure there is a fit. Your time is valuable and you should have a gut feeling from the first encounter whether or not you're willing to invest in building a therapeutic relationship with this person.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Why are you here?
