Jensen Chiropractic
About
We are a forward thinking, researched based clinic that works closely with MDs, DOs, Ortho/Neuro specialty, and physical therapists. We provide traditional chiropractic services in addition to soft tissue techniques like Graston, ART, and Dry Needling. Our state of the art facility is backed with a state of the art philosophy. Independent of all other things, understanding the source of injury and not justs its symptoms is pinnacle. We pride ourselves on finding what is truly causing the pain and guiding the patient down a path to recovery that works for the patient and not the doctor.
Aside from our expertise in sports related injury, we also understand the “sporting event” that is daily life. Work, school, and other activities of daily living frequently create situations that open the door to injury. It is our job to examine the body, identify its strengths and weaknesses on an individual and functional basis, and determine the next step in treatment. Our goal is to make the transition from pathology to performance in therapy clear and cost effective. ISC is also conveniently located within Will Shields Fitness Center allowing patients the opportunity to be treated where they train. Please contact Dr. Jensen at (913) 888-4845 to schedule an appointment.
Helping people is why I chose this profession. I also enjoy putting the puzzle of an injury together to determine the cause. I have worked with kids, parents, and professional athletes alike and often times the pattern of injury a vastly different at each age and skill level. Its figuring out the why and then seeing that solution put to use to improve someones quality of life. It is a wonderful thing to see.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every patient at ISC is taken through a comprehensive initial evaluation. This evaluation involves history, range of motion testing and orthopedic/functional testing based on the area of complaint. These tests are performed for two main reasons. The first is to ensure that the patient is in the right place. While we treat a variety of injuries here, we do not handle everything. If it is determined through testing that the patient's injuries fall outside our scope of practice, recommendations for referral are made and the patient is assisted in triage.
Secondly, these tests help isolate the cause of the injury. In concert with the history, they help provide the proper context of the injury so we can solve the problem not treat the symptom.
New patients can expect our first evaluation to take approximately 1 hour to complete with each treatment thereafter taking around 15-30 min depending on the complaint.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Due to the complexities of the health insurance industry it is difficult to standardize pricing. We are in network with most major insurers including Blue Cross, Aetna, United, and Cigna. We also except most Medicare plans as well.
For cash patients our initial evaluation fee is $80. Treatment fees operate on a sliding scale from $45 to $65 depending on the injury.
How did you get started in this business?
Growing up, I always enjoyed my science classes but due to an aversion for blood and needles I decided physical medicine was likely my best bet.
After a severe accident at 23, my mother struggled with the complications of multiple spinal fractures. She made it through, in large part, to our local chiropractor who treated her. Hearing her talk about the impact Dr. Braum had on her quality of life, I decided to pursue a career in chiropratic. At 17, I made that decision and never looked back.
What types of customers have you worked with?
In his 10 years of practice, Dr. Jensen has treated a wide range of patients. From children as young as 5 to athletes from the NFL, MLB, and PGA tour. Our sports background also means we frequently treat injuries in the extremities as well as the spine. Our methods go beyond the joints as well. Dr. Jensen has specialized in soft tissue therapy and rehab in addition to chiropractic manipulation.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
As my daughter is 2 months old as of writing this, I would have to say Nov. 12th 2018 at 2:43pm when we were first introduced.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do your research. Physical medicine is an ever changing practice and this often times leaves room for practioners to take advantage. It is our philosophy here that no treatment be provided that is not backed up by viable, peer reviewed research. This is less common in our line of work than I would like to admit.
Also be careful of anyone who asks for up front "treatment packages" or lump sum payments. If you are unsure about a diagnosis or treatment plan, get a second opinion. Many clinics, including ISC, offer 10 minute complementary consulations that can help in this way.
