I will meet you exactly where you are when you come in for your first session. I will listen and learn about you, build rapport and trust because Therapy is very personal! I want to get to know you, individually, because every person is unique. I want you to leave that first session knowing that I care about you!
I enjoy helping people work through the challenges they face in life. I love to see my clients grow when they push themselves outside their comfort zone! Clients experience success and their self-esteem increases and they begin to realize they have what it takes to make their lives anything they want! Finally, I love to see a client's face when they realize just how strong they really are, and that it was inside them all along!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first session will be about the client discussing what has brought them to seek counseling. I meet the client exactly where they are and I ask questions to get to know them better and then I sit back and listen! I use Cognitive BehavioralTherapy the most, but I would consider myself ecclectic, using bits and pieces from various therapy approaches.

How did you get started in this business?
I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a mental health counselor. One of my biggest strengths is being a great listener! In this field, if you want to be successful, you have to listen to the client. You also have to pay attention to their body language and facial expressions because sometimes our words and body language don't match. In this case, the saying "actions speak louder than words" is truly in play!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of clients from all walks of life. I have always worked with adults ages 18-80! I have worked with both men and women from various socio-economic backgrounds, racial backgrounds, religious backgrounds. I have worked with people with serious mental health issues like schizophrenia and bi-polar. I have also worked with people struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship issues, substance abuse issues and the like. I have worked in Community Mental Health facilities and I have also worked in Correctional Facilities counseling incarcerated men with serious mental health issues and sexual offenders.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Seeking counseling services Is not always easy! But, it can have a positive impact on the mind, body and soul! In order for this to happen, it is important that the counselor you choose is someone you feel comfortable with and that you trust! This can take some time, however, typically after the first or second session you will know if you and the counselor are a good fit. Don't be afraid to look for a different counselor because having the right person is very important to the process.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Am I ready to put in the work that counseling demands?
Do I have support outside of counseling in case I'm having a bad day? (Not mandatory, but helpful)
Do I know what I hope to gain by seeking counseling? (Not mandatory, therapist can help with this if needed)
