Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial session is free, during which we determine what the individual or couple needs help with and if we can provide the necessary service. After that we usually get a brief history and personality profile and begin to work on the issues that brought them to counseling.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Ph.D. from Purdue University in Counseling Psychology and an internship from Iowa State University as well as 37 years of experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My session fees are a flat $90 per full hour for everyone after the first session.
How did you get started in this business?
I began working in a church counseling center part time.
What types of customers have you worked with?
While I have worked with all ages, I mainly work with adults or with adolescents with their parents.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My family just went through the Fall Fun Maze together.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a company in your area of expertise?
I always suggest you meet with the person first and make sure you are comfortable. Not everyone works with every counselor.
What questions should customers think through before talking to companies about their needs?
Primarily have you worked on any issues or with any people who have concerns similar to mine and if so how many or how often.
