About this pro

I have had over 30 years experience in the field of mental health and substance abuse in all aspects and levels of care. I believe I can be a sounding board for people to help them identifiy and regulate healthy and unhealthy emotions in order to allow these emotions to guide them in a healthy manner on their personal journey in an effort to meet their goals and decrease anxiety, depressed feelings and a sense of being overwhelmed. So to be respectful, patient, a sounding board for reality, a listening support, are some of the ways I see my position as a therapist helping people develop skills to obtain a balanced, healthy life.I feel privileged to be an instrument of support in a clients on going recovery and self-awareness.

I enjoy being able to offer encouragement and facilitate learning positive coping strategies to others whom are coming for help. I feel competent in being able to assist a client in learning, practicing, and applying new and effective coping skills intended to increase their funtioning in daily life, and help to reduce symptom reemergence, and promote stability and recovery with self-exploration.  I can offer Cognitive Behavior Therapy, solution focused therapy. If a client is looking for support and spiritual direction,  I also am a spiritual director graduating from Franciscan University of Steubenville.I also am a qualified supervisor. I have worked in all levels of care including inpatient crisis intervention for mental health and substance abuse. I currently do outpatient group therapy at a PHP level, and I also have a private practice counseling office.
