Loving Therapy

I love helping people reach a sense of peace, purpose, direction, and well-being. I help people find the ability to thrive and function at their best. Everyone has something wonderful to offer to the world, and our most difficult times can lead us to those special gifts and qualities that are within every one of us.

I help people who have depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship problems, addictions, criminal thinking, ADHD, Bi-polar, chronic mental health illness, and a variety of other mental health issues. Before my degree I worked with autistic children, adults with autism and severe behavior problems, and victims of domestic violence (including helping to insulate them from truly dangerous situations). I have training in “The Batterer Intervention Program”, and have extensive experience in helping children to heal from trauma using cognitive behavioral and in play therapy. I have experience working with military veterans, service members, their families, as an MFLC on Tyndall AFB and in the local schools, as well as working with immigrants, incarcerated individuals, the vocational rehabilitation program, and individuals with disabilities. I have facilitated anger management and substance abuse treatment groups, and have intern experience with the sex offender treatment program. Some therapies I am certified for include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focussed CBT, Couples Counseling, Play Therapy, and Canine Assisted Therapy. I also have training in Christian Counseling and Theophostic prayer or 'healing prayer.'

I have taught Psychology, Career Development, and College Success courses at several colleges and provide Career Counseling. I am also a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer and have taught group exercise classes for many years. I provide health and wellness coaching, which can also be included in treatment for depression and anxiety.

I have worked with both victims and offenders and believe every person is here for the purpose of loving and being loved.
