About
Spectrum Recovery Solutions is a group practice of mental health counselors, and clinical social workers who share a passion for helping our clients create their own "life worth living".
Spectrum Recovery Solutions started by David Llewellyn, MA, LMHC, CSAT, in 2009, as a vision for serving our SW Florida community with individual, couples, family, and group counseling focused on the issues of recovery from trauma and addictions.
We are highly trained in: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples and Families; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy for trauma; Post Induction Therapy (PIT) for relational trauma; Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) for trauma; Sex Addiction Induced Trauma (SAIT) for partners; Sex / Pornography Addiction (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist - CSAT); Financial and Work Disorders; Substance Use Disorders; Co-Occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
We specialize in helping people who have been everywhere else without results. We use a holistic model of therapeutic intervention that views each person as a complex system and as part of a complex system.
We help our clients succeed by understanding each individual as having a unique combination of strengths and challenges and helping them to see how their patterns play out in all of their relationships. We build on this awareness by teaching our clients how to change their reactive patterns to conscious, deliberate responses as a way to improve the quality of their relationships with self, others, and all of Life.
We are committed to, and passionate about helping our clients develop their life worth living. It is a joy to see clients leaving therapy and living their lives free of the the problems that held them back, with skills to effectively solve their problems, and to find, foster, and maintain mutually respectful and mutually satisfying relationships. The goal of therapy is to not need therapy any longer, to be out experiencing your life worth living!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to engage new clients right away; I like to hear someone's story. I want to learn about their strengths, their values, their goals, what they have tried so far, what has worked and what hasn't worked. I want to know about relationships that are satisfying and successful and relationships that are/have been challenging and difficult. We do a thorough investigation of patterns of belief, thinking, feeling, and behavior to learn what works and what gets in the way. Then, we take it from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in clinical counseling; advanced training in: trauma and dissociation, including complex PTSD, PTSD, and Dissociative Disorders; EMDR Therapy; Post Induction Therapy; addiction, compulsions, and obsessions of all kinds; Certified Multiple Addiction Therapy; financial and work disorders; Emotionally Focused Couple's Therapy; Dialectical Behavior Therapy; and 13 years as an educator before all of that. I have done a lot of my own personal work so I know what it is like to be the client too. Also certified in coaching.
