What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Please call your insurance company first if you have coverage at the number on the back of your insurance card to see if you have an HMO plan or have out of network benefits. If you have an HMO, you will be reimbursed only if you stay within your network and should work with your insurance company to get referrals.
I do bill out of network plans, but require payment up-front. You will receive payment from the insurance company.
I offer innovative pricing in that I offer mini-sessions for appropriate topics that occur in 20 or 40-minute sessions. It is basically $30 for every 20 minutes no matter which session you select. Payment for the 20-minute session is required up-front and non-refundable. The 20-minute session is made possible by the client doing more 'legwork' on their own time to bring to session.
I work via the online platform Regroup only. It is fairly straightforward to use. You will need an email address. Sessions can even be conducted through your phone, however, if you are not in a private area, I can not guarantee your HIPAA privacy. Of course, desktops and laptops work as well.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
You should feel comfortable, but you should expect the sessions to help you grow to your goal, which usually requires looking at what is not working or what is falling short, etc.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Call your insurance company. Talk with the therapist and see how you feel. It may take a few sessions to know for sure if you have found the right fit though.
