Having the opportunity to build a trusting, open, and confident working relationship is highly rewarding. It is such an honor, and at times, humbling, as clients trust me to assist them in overcoming their personal struggles and improve their overall quality of life. I greatly enjoy our moments of celebration as individual goals are achieved. Engaging in play therapy games/activities with children and their families is also fun and quite meaningful to me in my daily work.

Leigh Anne was a great support and resource. She helped with a wide variety of challenges that I was facing and did so in a consistent and calming manner. I appreciated the candor in her advice and found it to be authentic and generous. After working together for a few months, Leigh Anne’s advice and support has helped me get to a point of greater resilience, better navigation strategies, and a calmer mindset. I appreciated Leigh Anne’s flexibility in her scheduling and found that it was individualized to whatever I needed (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). I would highly recommend Leigh Anne and her therapeutic practice.
Leigh Anne is very easy to talk to. She understands the complexity of divorce and difficulties coparenting. My daughter struggles with having two homes. Leigh Anne is able to help my daughter navigate situations that cause her anxiety.
Very easy to talk to!
Upon receiving a contact from a perspective client, I typically respond within 24 hours. I offer to arrange a 15-20 minute phone or virtual Meet & Greet. Should time allow, and we both agree, we can continue for 50-55 minutes as an Exended Meet & Greet/Beginning Intake Appointment. This service is only self-pay at $125.00, unless all initial intake paperwork is completed and returned at the time of our meeting (I offer to email the paperwork in advance). This 50-55 minute meeting is not covered by insurance. Additionally, I request a copy of an updated insurance card and driver's license be sent immediately. A virtual or in-person intake appointment is then scheduled within 2-4 weeks that will be covered by insurance. Emergency telehealth video intake appointments are available within 48 hours. In working with children, I often recommend that an initial parent meeting be scheduled prior to the intake involving a child, teen, or challenged adult. The essential family background information and presenting issues can be more openly discussed. We begin to create goals for treatment. Then, in the intake with the child, the primary focus is on helping him/her to feel safe and comfortable as they are welcomed to explore the various toys and play activities in the "Kid's Corner" of my office, or engage in joint play activities virtually (coloring/drawing, playdough, etc.). This allows for more positive and secure interactions between the child and me from the beginning.
I graduated from Lesley College with a BS in Human Services, with specializations in Counseling, Group Therapy, and Child/Human Development across the lifespan. After working full-time as a Child Development and Trauma Specialist at an intensive child abuse prevention/respite care program for young children through the Hartford YWCA, I began my graduate studies at UCONN School of Social Work, followed by obtaining my CT State license 18-24 months later. I have been employed in various mental health agencies and programs serving children, individuals, and adults. My experience ranges from providing intensive home-based services in a well known permanency planning agency across New England to outpatient clinical services to being a director of, first, a State funded Safe Home serving abused and neglected youth to, secondly, managing all operations, program development, and providing clinical care in a 24 hour Emergency Mobile Crisis program. I have been in private practice since 2003. In 2011, I earned my certification as a Divorce Mediator.
My rates are reasonable and customary with other licensed mental health providers of similar experience and service delivery in the CT/MA areas.
I accept the following insurance plans:
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and plans with out of network benefits.
