Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We make it very simple and stress free for our clients, knowing that when an individual reaches out to a Therapist, it is because he/she is struggling mentally or emotionally. We want to assist in alleviating that stress from the very onset of our Client Intake Process.
As much as the client wants to give at that moment,is what we take.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.A. Counseling ( Family, Addiction, abuse)
M.A. Counseling (Emphasis on Suicide Prevention)
What types of customers have you worked with?
Our clients base varies.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I think one of my fondest moment, was when I met with a young lady of 23 years, that have been struggling with depression and suicidal ideation since she was 15 years of age. Even after several interventions from other professionals in this field, she seemed to have remained the same until we met. After our first session, she turned to me before she left and said; "for the first time in my life, I am feeling hopeful" Her smile was priceless!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advice would be; that he/she understand the difference between a Counselor/Therapist and a Psychiatrist.
Also, seeking Therapy does not mean you are crazy...Do not buy into that stigma.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I beleive it is not really neccessary for a customer to think through their questions. Whatever they have on their mind at the time, is just fine...other questions will come out once therapy has started.
