About
You've spent a lifetime picturing how situations "should" turn out. Imagery arguments, mind reading, your needs being replaced with empathy for your partners childhood traumas. This leaves you trying harder to fix them, only to be disappointed once again. Reoccurring feelings of abandonment; I love them, it's over, have their origins in your inconsistent emotional upbringing. Friends just don't truly understand "if they knew her story they'd understand why I stay”.
I help men and women affected by a family's member addiction, abandonment, physically and or emotionally, and narcissistic abuse . The chaos of one's childhood always shows up in their adult life. This can stop.
I use a combination of CBT, DBT, solution focused, and psychodynamic therapy. I will help you create personalized interventions , focusing on your talents and strengths. You will be active in this process. We’ll identify behaviors you seek to control by first understanding them. The end result is controlling your triggers, setting boundaries, ending that painful relationship, or processing the death of a loved one. I will help you with any reason you seek therapy for.
Hello, I'm Michael. How do I get to a better place emotionally you might be asking yourself? The first step is to contact me and discuss your specific needs. I offer in person therapy in Santa Monica, or online throughout California.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will have the client(s) identify the reason for seeking therapy. Together, we will cover salient issues and discus what they feel is most important. Solutions are discussed as well as experiments to try between session. Short term therapy is always my goal. However, sometimes long term therapy is needed to uncover deeper reasons situations reoccur, feelings of anxiety and depression, relationship patterns, and parenting styles to name a few reasons. Let's talk and discuss your needs and goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Back ground (BA) in child development, Masters in psychology (MFT), and years of life experience. I did my early training at Glendale Adventist with dual diagnosis patients where I learned about what I call the addictive system. I utilize eclectic, humanistic (psychodynamic) approach to therapy, as well as CBT and solutions focused.
