Darren Haber, PsyD
About
I work hard for and with my patients, to free them from whatever constricting narratives might be both soothing and imprisoning. I have done much writing on addiction, anxiety, and other human challenges, on goodtherapy.org, in various analytic journals, and elsewhere. You can check at www.therapistinlosangeles.com. I believe that underneath every potentially shameful flaw or weakness is a human experience, which has never had the chance to be heard or shared with a caring other. I do not think it false advertising to say that, after fifteen years of practicing psychotherapy, those patients who hang in there, who keep showing up to do the best they can, do see positive change.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each person is different: different style, personality, temperament, pace of working, and so on. Each person also has a distinctive challenge they would like to address. And, more often than not, each person shortchanges themselves on what they can accomplish over time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a trained psychotherapist, addictions counselor, and a certified psychoanalyst, with specialties in anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and men's issues. I have also written extensively on all of these issues, with links on my website.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My rate is typical for a west side therapist. I am trying to be flexible during this crisis, and working by phone or online.
