Dr. Kim Peirano, DACM, L.Ac. is the Owner and Acupuncturist behind Lion's Heart.  Kim is a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine graduate from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and a Master’s of Science graduate from the Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, CA, and a California State Board Licensed Acupuncturist she is also a Certified Nutrition Consultatnt through the National Academy of Metabolic Science. Kim has been practicing acupuncture in San Francisco and the East Bay Area since December 2010 and relocated her practice to San Rafael in September 2017.

Kim's areas of expertise and specialties include weight loss coaching & body image healing, cosmetic acupuncture, acupuncture for spiritual growth and navigating major life changes, pain management, stress management, pediatric and teen acupuncture, and neurology & paralysis treatment.

In addition to her training as an Acupuncturist, Kim is a Deeksha Oneness Blessing Giver, and an advanced level student at the Foundation for Spiritual Development. Within these spiritual avenues she devotes her time and service to helping others clear paths for their personal spiritual awakening. Kim works on her own personal growth through meditation, prayer and healing, often working within the quantum field, with non-conditional spirit guides and Oneness. She utilizes her intuitive connection to help guide her treatment strategies and diagnosis with each patient, by accessing the subtle natures of the Qi (energy) in the body she is able to provide unique, individual treatments and insights to every session.
Dr. Kim's focus with each client is to find a balanced path so that each individual can find their way to a better version of themselves in a fashion that is attainable.  Dr. Kim believes that acupuncture is an incredible tool to use on your path for growth, whether that growth is physical (for healing ailments and injuries or improving organ functions), mental and emotional (working on stress and emotional healing) or spiritual (working on a more abstract path of growth and self discovery).  It’s important to remember that the path of true growth may not always be one of comfort, but sticking to this path can produce incredible outcomes and change.  Dr. Kim’s ideal patient is one who is ready and willing to commit to their own path of growth, whether in great strides or tiny steps, they are wanting to commit to the path of growing and moving forward.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

If you've been looking to lose weight it's so important to remember that getting sustainable results is far more important than fast results. If the method you use to attain your weight loss is unsustainable that means your results are likely unsustainable. Our program focuses on flexible dieting which means you can still eat and enjoy your favorite foods and learn how to eat correct portion sizes along with healing the root causes of our problems with body image and diet culture.

While extensive training and certifications are appealing, I think the most important thing when looking for an Acupuncturist is a connection with the practitioner, you may find this with a novice practitioner or a very experienced person but it's in that connection where trust and healing can take place and nothing can replace it, nor can it be learned.
