Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I work at getting to know my client by hearing their story, their concerns, and what they wish to gain from their experience. I build rapport and trust, helping them work at their pace toward their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, substance abuse and process addictions, sex-trafficking issues, and Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist-Individual
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with incarcerated, substance abusers, and general mental health individuals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a client who is experiencing anxiety who came for a second session upset about an argument with a family member just prior. When the session was complete, the client had insight into his own part in the conflict and a plan to apologize and incorporate self-regulation techniques for future issues.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Many people are afraid to share their issues or the pain of the process. The longer it is put off, the harder it becomes to manage and move forward.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How willing am I to do the work?
Can I change therapists if I am not connecting?
