Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When someone calls our office, we schedule a free initial consultation either in-person or over the phone. We collect all relevant details during the initial consultation and offer a no-jargon opinion about your case.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our staff attorneys hold Doctorals in Jurisprudence from ABA accredited law schools and are licensed to practice in the State of Washington. We continue our legal education by taking courses throughout the year on a variety of topics.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We offer sliding scale discounts based on income, and also offer flat-rate unbundled services for individual motions and hearings. If you just need help with paperwork, we can do that, too!
How did you get started in this business?
Since I was young, I've always had a keen sense of right and wrong. I would watch the news and feel a pit in my stomach whenever I saw the results of a miscarriage of justice. I've dedicated my life to protecting the lives, liberties, and property of my clients and their loved ones. Don't let the court system deprive you of your rights -- hire an attorney to fight for you -- and don't be afraid of the bill. I don't want to see someone deprived of justice because of an inability to pay. Many attorneys, including myself, have a sliding fee scale for low-income clients. It's the right thing to do.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a company in your area of expertise?
Be prepared to give me a call; there's only so much that I can answer via email. When I issue a quote to a potential client, I'm operating on very limited information. More often then not, my quote changes after having a conversation with the person on the phone and getting a better idea of the time requirements on a case.
