What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I want to see the client file and speak to the potential client about the details of their case. The initial consultation and scoping is always free of charge.
Once I have decided to take the case, I will provide the client with an estimate of costs and the process going forward. Depending on the scope of the matter, I may require a deposit to move forward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am admitted to the Bars of Washington and California and have been since 2008 and 2007, respectively.
Before going solo, I was counsel for the Master Builders Asaociation, where I wrote numerous pieces of legislation concerning construction disputes and contractor registration.
I have served as the chair of the American Bar Association's committee on Multi Family Housing and I have served on the Washington Bar's Section on Real Property, Probate and Trusts.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Generally my rate is $325 per hour. I do charge a flat fee for some services. That varies.
How did you get started in this business?
I was a lobbyist, then went to law school and became very involved in writing legilsation and advising contractors and consumers with respect to construction defects.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Contractors, consumers, real estate investors and those with real estate transactional issues.
