About
Have you experienced childhood trauma? Do you know your ACES score? Is it difficult for you to regulate your emotions? If so you may be experiencing symptoms that are often subconscious. This makes it difficult to understand why you feel things so deeply. I love helping clients understand that they are not their trauma or what happened to them. Together we explore and identify what current issues are causing them anxiety, stress and emotional deregulation. Using a humanistic approach we find tools to help identify what is happening and begin to calm the central nervous system. Identity, Self Esteem, and Saftey are often the three things that clients who experienced childhood trauma suffer within their adult lives. We use trauma hacks, process, grief and loss, and narrative therapy, EMDR, DBT to help clients discover the story they are holding about themselves and what happened to them. You are not your trauma, it is what happened to you but it doesn't get to define you. Make an appointment today, I look forward to meeting you.
I love working with clients and helping them discover their strength-based narrative. I believe that you are the expert on your own life. I went into counseling because I experienced so much trauma by the time I was twenty-two both of my parents passed away. My father to gun violence and my mother shortly after. I have spent a lifetime healing, counseling and have learned so much about trauma and the ways it can show up in our bodies, minds, and patterns. I never believe we are what happened to us. I do believe it is up to us to work through some of our past traumas so that we can live the healthiest lives possible. I am trained in EMDR, attachment, trauma, DBT, ACT, CBT, Narrative Therapy and use an integrative approach in working with clients. I love being able to hold space for clients when they are going through their healing process. My number one job is making sure clients feel safe and come away with some skills to help with their emotional regulation and to live their best life. Call me, let's talk.
