About

I have over 25 years of experience helping individuals and families. Earning my Masters degree in both social work and counseling, and becoming a Christian Life Coach, I believe, helps me to be at my best so that I can serve my clients to the best of my ability.

Knowing that I can actually help someone find more meaning in life, lessen their pain, and instill hope gives my life purpose, and passion! Being a blessing to others blesses me!

I’ve never worked with them per se, but I have been working with Sylvia Ritchie for the past couple of years. She came highly recommended to me when I was going through some changes, so in turn, I highly recommend her as well. She is a gift to the field of counseling and if you allow her, she will be a gift to you.

Frequently asked questions

Let' find out what your specific needs are by completing an assessment that will allow me to find out if I am a good fit for you.  If we both agree that I am your match, then we will set acheivable goals and set our course for the change you are looking for.  I utilize counseling methods such as CBT, Person-centered therapy, and Adlerian therapy to move you forward and help you to transform your life by taking one step at a time.  Small steps of intentionality create great change!

I have earned Masters degrees in both Social Work (1995) and Clinical Mental Health counseling.  I am also a certified Christian Life Coach.

My rates for counseling are between $95.00 and $125.00.  For coaching, rates are determined based on need.

Growing up, I knew that I wanted to be a social worker.  I don't know when I even learned that the profession existed.  It was just my dream to be one some day.  The more I learned what social workers do and the impact they could have on the lives of others, I was hooked.  Obtaining an additional degree in counseling allowed me to fine tune my skills even the more.

I have worked extensively with families at-risk, and this includes families of every socio-economic status, race, or culture.  Trouble and hardship happens to us all.  I work with individuals, couples, and groups.  I have years of experience working with foster and adoptive families as well.

A client that I have worked with for several months has recently released her gift to the world!  Knowing the path she has trod in order to finally live her dream flipped the scales...her persistance, openness, and growth inspired me and gave me hope!

Ask, ask, and ask some more...any and as many questions as you can when deciding on a counselor or coach before committing.  Your life is worth the effort!  Finding a match that is right for you is very important.  Every counselor is different.  If you have preferences, don't hesitate to make these known.  Counseling is all about YOU!  Take the time and effort to choose wisely.

Take the time to really think about what your needs are.  You will be the expert in your working relationship as no one knows you like you!  When you are clear, as much as possible, to what you believe you need, you will be able to make the best choice for you.  If you have enough self-awareness to know what kind of car you want to drive, know yourself enough to know what kind of therapist will work best for you.  Do your research.
