I specialize in empowerment counseling for adults and couples. My specialities include improving communication, overcoming trauma, stress, career concerns, body dysmorphia, and anxiety. I am also certified in Intuitive Eating and believe in an anti-diet mindset around food. I proudly serve the LGBTQIA+ community.
It is an honor and privilege to help clients feel better. You are the hero or your own story, I am a supporter.
Anne is amazing.
Easy to talk with and has a few good ideas. I’d like to see more on plans for my future growth.
she listens and asks good questions
Ms. Chow is incredibly personable and professional. I've known her for several years and have found her to be supportive. I would recommend her to anyone. I appreciate her approach in building up self-esteem and empowering women.
When a new client calls, I schedule a free 15 minute consultation either by phone or in the office. During the consultation, we get to know each other and find out if there is a good fit. I give the client all of the paperwork necessary so we don't have to take up time in a session. We usually schedule our work for the next week and begin to dive into deeper issues in the second session. Clients decide when our work is done. Some stay weeks, and others take longer.
I have a Master's in Clinical Mental Health from Marymount University. Before working in mental health, I was a special education teacher for 10 years, most recently in Fairfax County, Virginia.
All of my sessions are $160 for 55 minutes.
When I was a teacher, I was doing a lot of counseling work with students and their families. Eventually, the academic part of teaching was getting in the way of my true passion. I left teaching to become a full-time grad student. After receiving my Master's in Clinical Mental Health, I opened Bluebird Counseling Center, a private practice in McLean, Virginia.
I work with women, men, couples, LGBTQIA, and teens. I specialize in empowerment issues for women, but also see clients who have anxiety, depression, social phobia, adjusting new circumstances, failure to launch, and career counseling.
