What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically met with clients to fully assess their legal situation. If the client feels comfortable with me representing their interests we would sign an attorney-client engagement letter that would outline the scope of the work and the agreed price
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed and insured attorney with the State of Utah. I have been practicing law for five years and have enjoyed every minute of it!

Pricing varies depending upon the type of case and the anticipated amount of time. For family law matters, the fees are typically at an hourly rate.
How did you get started in this business?
I started with a smaller firm as an associate in Ogden, Utah. The last two years I have been with a larger firm in Salt Lake City, Utah. This last year, 2019 I founded Porter Law Firm and enjoy helping clients achieve personalized legal results that are focused on their needs
What types of customers have you worked with?
I primarily work in the area of Family Law including: Divorce, Paternity, Custody, Modification of Divorce, Alimony and Adoption. I also help individuals that need to file for bankruptcy.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I really enjoy meeting with new clients and helping them achieve great results. I recently have met a lot of good people that need help. I enjoy hearing about their issues and customizing a legal plan for them!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would advise somebody to really feel comfortable with their attorney. An attorney-client relationship is built upon trust and good communication, you need to make sure you can trust your attorney
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about the desired outcome you want in your case. Also bring all information you think is relevant to your case when you meet with the attorney so they can fully assess your situation
