About
I love what I do; it is my passion, not a "job." You get absolutely all of my personal attention. Many attorneys who prepare wills are not equipped to, and do not, handle probate proceedings which occur in a courtroom. I have loads of experience in both of these, which saves you the burden of finding two separate lawyers.
I get to know all kinds of different people and their families. You will not find a lawyer more dedicated to you and your needs and desires.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I talk with you at length. Then I send you a questionnaire tailored to your family. After you return the questionnaire, I will ordinarily have your eight documents back to you within three days.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated near the top of my class from SMU School of Law in 1987 and have practiced law continuously since then. I am licensed in every district and county court in the State of Texas, every federal court in Texas and the federal United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
I have created personalized estate documents for more people than I can count. In a court proceeding (probate or a will contest), my 20 years of trial experience is invaluable.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I offer a flat fee for preparing all eight of your estate documents. This fee structure aligns an attorney's interests with those of the client. Once a flat fee is set and agreed upon, the attorney's sole incentive is to complete the work. For a simple probate proceeding I also charge a flat fee.
How did you get started in this business?
When my parents passed away, they both had wills so probate was very simple, but I was not very familiar with the probate process and I felt lost and confused, on top of grieving, and I am a lawyer! I will take away the overwhelming burden of probate and provide you comfort by guiding you all the way through the probate process.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My clients range from single people with no children to large families with 8 children and 22 grandchildren. My goal is to keep you informed and confident in my abilities. All my clients get all the attention they need and want. No one client is more important than the other.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Just last week, I prepared estate documents for a 92-year old lady. Despite this COVID disaster, I went to her home and explained all the documents. After she had signed all the documents, I felt an almost giddy sense of having helped someone.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ask questions. Most important, ask them WHY they do this type of work. Make sure they explain different ways to protect and pass down your property. If you are probating a Will, ask about their trial experience.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
It is fine to begin the process with no idea which way to go. We will start from zero and work through all your questions such as what does a Will do? Do you have a child with special needs and need a trust to care for that child, and how to protect your disability, social security Medicare or Medicaid benefits.
