Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Call for an initial free telephone consultation before coming in for an appointment or making any sort of commitment. I answer the line directly and will spend some time talking to you about your case and how I can help. It's a chance for you to ask any questions and make sure it's a good fit before taking the time to meet in person.
Even after having a telephone consult, we will still need to start with an in-person consultation to really go over your case in depth and develop a strategy as well as to sign a retainer agreement, which is when I would officially become your lawyer and represent you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been practicing law for over ten years and have worked on a variety of matters and in a variety of settings, including as a law clerk to a federal district court judge. I am prepared to take on any challenge. It has always been my dream to bring my legal skills to people's most personal and urgent problems. I have also been through the family courts as a party, and I understand that you need not only a legal advocate, but also a personal guide, and I hope to be that for you.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
For the majority cases, I charge an hourly rate of $275/hour
Please feel free to inquire about a flat rate for uncontested divorces and wills.
How did you get started in this business?
After nearly ten years practicing in complex litigation in federal court, in 2017, I made the move to working in domestic law, which is most rewarding, as it impacts the most important issues in clients' lives.
In the summer of 2019, I launched my own practice and I look forward to serving new clients and being a part of the Nashville legal community for many years to come.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My practice focuses primarily on working with women, through divorce, child custody, orders of protection, as well as prenuptial agreements.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My favorite moment in every case is the moment that my client realizes that she is going to be okay, when she has found her voice and is looking forward to the future ahead.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find someone who really understands not just the landscape of the relevant law, but who also takes the time to understand who you are and what you want to accomplish. This is someone you are trusting to be your voice in one of the most important matters in your life and no two cases are the same, no two clients are the same.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about your ideal outcome, one that is right and fair. Don't get stuck on the past but think about how you see your future and then find an attorney who shares that vision and will fight to get you there.
