What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, a client will contact me via phone or email. I will discuss the client's matter and determine if I can assist. I may send client a document in advance, e.g. a questionnaire for estate planning services. Then, I will meet with the client to go over all the aspects of the client's matter.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Duke University School of Law, and in 2019 I have been practicing law for 23 years. I rountinely take continuing legal education classes in the areas of law in which I practice.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our standard pricing is to charge for our time at an hourly rate, but often we will agree to a flat fee or a "not to exceed" amount.
How did you get started in this business?
I joined Grant, Konvalinka & Harrison after graduating from Duke University School of Law.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with lots of different types of clients in my three main areas of practice: business law, estate planning and administration, and immigration. I have worked with multinational corporations and startups, and everything in between.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My family and I recently visited Washington D.C. We enjoyed lots of museums, monuments, and restaurants with food from around the world.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Don't be afraid to ask questions.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
It will depend upon the subject matter, but I would want to know the expected cost, duration, and anticipated outcome.
