About
My process varies significantly depending upon the needs of the individual client. I strongly believe there is not any one approach to treatment that will work with all or even most clients. My personal practice is focused on designing a treatment plan based on the individuality of the client as a person and the presenting concerns. I first seek to understand the primary needs and background of the client. Following the initial information, treatment planning and the course of subsequent sessions is dictated by the best therapeutic approach as informed by goals of the client, personality of the client, and the best aligned treatment model that has consideration for all of the nuanced presenting components.
I recently completed treatment with a couple in marital therapy who originally presented unsure if they should continue in their marriage. After several months of committed work and collaboration, they have successfully resolved their presenting concerns. More importantly, they have demonstrated a deeper understanding of one another that is supporting them in a better relationship and enhancing their overall quality of life. I am priviledged to be a part of the transformations that occur in people's lives, and that is the most enjoyable aspect of the work I do. I have the opportunity to guide couples and individuals to a place that allows them to have a life of enhanced quality.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had the pleasure of working with an 8 year old who came to therapy seeking assistance with severe anxiety. Her anxiety had progressed to the degree that it presented as an obsessive concern that she would choke on her food. She was only eating small amounts of yogurt when I first met her. She worked so hard with me, and within a few short weeks, she was eating all of the foods she previously enjoyed without reservation or concern. Seeing her anxiety subside and quality of life return to her daily experience was a joy. She is a wonderful, intelligent, lively little girl, and it was a meaningful experience for me as I got to be a part of her finding strength and calm within herself.
