About
Directive approach utilizing a combination of skills training (DBT. CBT. TFCBT, TST, EFT, NLP). I am completely passionate about what I do and although I do schedule potential new clients for an initial assessment (up to 3 sessions), at that point we decide whether or not to "officially" hire each other. Time is a precious resource that cannot be replenished and any client that seeks me for treatment should do so knowing I respect that and will do my best to guide them literally to the change and highest self they seek.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First three sessions are dedicated to a full pscyhosocial evaluation. Thereafter, each session ideally begins with a quick check in of the intensity rating for the week (of symptoms as would have been determined in the evaluation) and a review of what skill or "homework" I might have asked you to focus on for the week. Then listening to what did happen the previous week. And a suggestion of what to "do" or try differently in the week to come.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Licensed Master Level Clinician, training in the various skills modalities previously mentioned (CBT, DBT, TST, TFCBT, NLP). And the best education- life iteself. And all of what I have learned from my own life as well as the lives of thousands of people over the 15 years+ I have in this field altogether.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Standard Rate for individual therapy is between $250-$350, depending on the complexity of the case as defined by how many systems are involved (eg if there are court systems, CPS systems and so forth). I do accept some insurances.
Self Pay rate can be significantly lower and negotiated based on need.
There is also a discount available to those that have daytime flexible hours available to conduct the treatment.
How did you get started in this business?
It was definitely a Calling. Even when I did my formal education, I did so thinking I would pursue political advocacy and social change. I did get to accomplish some of those goals. Along the way I accepted a part time job as a mental health therapist at the strong insistance of the clinical director at that time. At first I looked at it more as coincedence of sorts that clients were really getting much better and overcoming so much. Eventually I realized with full conviction that this is just my calling, thousands of clients and "magic moments" later.
What types of customers have you worked with?
People with issues related to aging, medical, life transitions, significant relationship losses, trauma. In a sentence, acting one way but having this part of themselves that wants more and is aware that there is more to themselves and life then where they are at.
Significant Mood Disorders (Depression/Anxiety), Addictions, Psychotic spectrum disorders (including Bi Polar, Schizophrenia, OCD), Personality Disorders and related conditions.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I thought it was really beautiful and inspiring to see that so many people took off of work, sacrificed rest and other resources- all to pull together towards finding these two young girls that wandered off and got lost in the woods. So many people demonstrated the kind of crazed care and devotion that is more typically associated with the family. After three days, the girls were found alive and reasonably well. I'm inspired by the power of community.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advice would be to think about what it is that you are really looking for in a therapist. If it is an "emotional holding" or presence type of healing therapist, then you are likely to find plenty to choose from. If what you are really looking for and need is for someone to connect with the "real" you and actually help you connect with a higher version of yourself, then be sure to choose someone who can offer you authenticity and skills.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Are they actually willing to do whatever it takes to break the bonds that it has over them? (whatever the "it" is).
Are they aware that change is a process and that in order to see the benefit, it takes a commitment.
Do they have a sense of their own schedule and can carve out a weekly time that will be dedicated to their therapeutic growth.
