Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, clients contact the office for a consultation and to discuss specifics of their issue and get to know us. After we have listened to them and have a feel for the issue, they are invited to register for service and provided with registration forms in order to schedule service. We like to personally speak to clients prior to meeting them for the first time at a mediation session because it allows us to personally orient ourselves to the clients and their needs and create that personal connection which is very important to us. We believe this provides the best opportunity for success and helps establish trust and rapport.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our mediators are highly skilled professionals and specialized in specific areas of dispute. Most hold law degrees and are admitted to the BAR. HOWEVER, It is important to note that while most of our mediators are attorneys, they operated in their private capacity as mediators while providing mediation service and NOT in their capacity as lawyers. They do not represent you, nothing they do in the course of mediation is intended as legal advice, nor does it create an attorney client relationship in any regard.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our rate is $250.00 per hour with a two hour minimum. Your consultant will fully discuss fees with you and give you a reliable price quote at the conclusion of your consultation.
How did you get started in this business?
We got started doing this type of work in the wake of the 2008 economic crisis. It seemed the country was awash in creditor claims and foreclosures. Negotiating settlements became a means of survival and provided a sense of empowerment. The value of creating agreement as an alternative litigation was readily apparent and was very rewarding personally. To assist those who otherwise felt powerless in one of the worst economic times in our countries history was a special feeling and remains the inspirational force behind our service offerings today.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We serve customers with all manner of disputes. The areas of mediation we serve can be found on our website and include: Personal injury Product Liability Malpractice Employment matters Workplace disputes Wrongful termination Discrimination Sexual harassment Divorce/custody Contract claims International disputes Construction Elder Law Disputes Mandatory mediation per contract Court Ordered mediation Commercial disputes Insurance Disputes Land Lord Tenant
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would simply say, make sure you have a personal comfort level with the people and the service. People are intuitively good judges of character and first impressions are often correct.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Customers, should ask if the provider specializes in the particular area. Not all mediators can mediate across all areas of dispute. It is far better to hire a mediator familiar with your specific area of dispute so they are more in tuned with the parties interests and concerns and can better guide them to resolution.
