Blum & Savlov, LLP
About
I have many years of experience helping people to find relief from anxiety, depression and relationship problems. Also, I find it very rewarding to guide people in creating the best life possible by helping them to develop greater confidence, improve friendships and intimate relationships (dating, marriage, long-term life partnerships), get more satisfaction out of work and have more fun and meaningful lives. My style is interactive and conversational and an in-person meeting is the best way to find out if we are a good match to work together. As an experienced sports coach as well, I know the power of setting goals and breaking them down into small, manageable steps in a safe and supportive environment. My therapy and coaching work continually influence one another in beneficial ways as I help my clients stay positive and focused while achieving their goals. I do a good deal of work with men and women (15 and older) who have had traumatic childhood experiences of physical and sexual abuse. Many women find that working with a safe, compassionate, male therapist, particularly when their abuser was a man, is an important part of their healing process. I get satisfaction from helping people grow in their lives. I love committing to others and serving them with integrity.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Contact me and we will have a call at no charge to get to know each other a bit and see if we are a good fit. If so, I suggest trying a single session in person to better get a feel if we would work well together. Being comfortable with your therapist is very important in terms of the success of the work together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
After my graduate degree I spent 7 years in voluntary, post-graduate training at an institute and also have extensive family therapy training. I paid supervisors for years after graduate school, out of my own pocket and not required, simply to learn from senior therapists and be the best I can. I have always been committed to learning and improving my craft.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I'm very experienced and well-trained and do not participate as an in-network provider with insurance companies. They pay very poorly and also demand to know personal details about sessions.
In order to be paid fairly and protect my clients' confidentiality, I'm not in the networks. However, if you have out of network benefits, they may cover my services. Also, if there is financial difficulty in affording my fee, I will consider a reduced fee on a case by case basis.
