Mindful Bodies is owned by Shawnta (pronounced Shawn Tay) Wright, LPCS & is located at Northgate Mall in Durham NC. Our counseling staff is comprised of fully & provisonally Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs & LPCAs) & mental health counseling interns. Our interns provide indivdual & group counseling at no cost ($0). Our LPCs & LPCAs provide individual & group counseling on a sliding fee scale so if clients do not have medical insurance then they can still afford our counseling services. We provide mental health counseling for various concerns including, but not limited to, sexual assault & domestic violence, other traumas, self worth, self esteem, identity development, anxiety, depression, parenting & couples skills, Gottman Method Couples Counseling, eating disorders & general weight management & post bariatric surgery issues. Frequently asked questions

Our Mindful Bodies therapists will schedule a phone call with potential clients and during the phone call the therapist will give the client information about their methods of counseling, speciality counseling areas and best times to meet and will also gather information about the client's concerns & goals for counseling. The inital phone call takes between 30 - 60 minutes. At the end of the phone call the potential client and therapist will decide if they will schedule the 1st counseling session.
