About
As a criminal defense attorney, I believe in open communication with my clients so they know exactly what is going on throughout each stage of the case. I will provide my clients with my cell phone so they can call me with any questions or concerns they have. I make sure my client's understand the strengths and weakenesses in their case so they can make an intelligent and informed decision during each step of the process.
I enjoy working with my clients as each client toward goals that they can be pleased with obtaiing given the siutation. There is nothing better than winning a trial. However it is just as satisfuing knowing that through all of the hard work we achieve the best result possible.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we schedule a meeting either at my office or at a mutually agreeable location. At that time we review any court documentation together and I learn about my client's background, educational and occupational history, family and other relevant information. We then discuss the facts of the case and determine whether we need an investigator to aid in the defense. I explain what will happen during each stage of the case starting with the first appearance, arraignment, pretrial conference, omnibus hearing and trial.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. I graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in 1990. Over the past 29 years I have practiced law in the area of criminal defense and personal injury law. I have refended hundreds of clients charged with crimes ranging from misdemeanor cases including assault, theft, property crimes and DWI case to serious felony level charges including sex crines, homicide, criminal vehicular operation, theft, extortion and other crimes.
