About
I am a a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Howard University in Washington DC. Since 1994 I have provided diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy, case management, and change management in various settings such as NIH/SAMHSA research and program grants, hospitals, foster care, insurance companies, substance abuse agencies, in-home service agencies, Community Mental Health, and private practice. Across my career I have provided therapeutic interventions to children, adults, elderly, and families. My treatment interests lie in promoting wellbeing in the lives of individuals who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, parenting concerns, behavioral issues, adjustment difficulties, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. I have received and provided training in trauma informed care and the clinical interventions of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
What I enjoy most is getting to know, engage, support, and encourage people to become their best selves. I have been granted the experience of walking with and supporting many people on their journey. To be invited into the process of a person going from broken and seeing their scars as ugly and painful; to healing of the scars and seeing themselves as more beautiful and stronger with the scars of gold. It is a humbling and grateful experience.
