I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland and then completed course work for a Master of Arts degree in English with a specialty in Rhetoric. I then obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from George Washington University Law School. I am also a member of the Maryland Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, Wealth Counsel, Elder Counsel, The Alliance of Black Women Attorneys, and the Christian Legal Society.

Our clients choose their fee for estate planning services based on our flat fee estate planning packages.

I left the corporate world at Ernst & Young in order to help regular families like mine to grow their wealth and protect their legacy.  It is much more rewarding than making big companies bigger.

Our clients range from single moms to local business owners.  They all have 1 thing in common: they care about their families and want to make sure they are doing all they can to protect them and to protect what they have worked hard to build.

I recently helped one of my long-time clients to profitably sell the home we saved many years ago through a Chapter 13 bankruptcy and then purchase their forever home.  As we stood in their kitchen, we all teared up thinking of all we had gone through together and how far their family had come financially.  Setting up their estate plan will be our next project so that their life lessons can be passed on to the next generation.  Getting to make such a meaningful impact on the lives of our clients makes what I do as an attorney so rewarding.  I'm blessed to have a career where that can literally happen every time I step into the office.

My advice to anyone looking for an estate planning attorney is to take the time to do a little research, not necessarily on the area of law -- that's why you hire an expert.  Research the expert.  Make sure you are comfortable with the attorney and their team so that you get more than a form document that may not work when your family needs it most.  Also make sure they have lots of good reviews from other people who have already worked with them.  Finally, don't put off this very important planning -- the peace of mind that you get from knowing your affairs are in order is priceless.

Before you head to your attorney's office, think about what your goals are for making an estate plan?  What are you trying to accomplish?  Being clear about this ahead of time will help you and your attorney to tailor-make a plan to address your biggest concerns.  Then, think about who you trust among your family and friends to do things like taking care of your children, handling your medical decisions, and handling your finances, if something happened to you.  Then, think of a back-up to that person.
