About

My office provides quality and individualized legal services and attention to our clients, one-on-one, without middle people. When you retain our law office you deal directly with your attorney from day one rather than support staff or other intermediaries. My office also promptly returns all calls and e-mails during normal business hours and when necessary outside of business hours, and we commit to provide the best representation possible at all times to achieve the best results and show the clients that they truly matter, and no case or claim is too big or small. My passion is helping people with their matters and also lending an eye and ear sometimes just to be a sounding board of source of counsel and advice, and giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves or be adequately "heard." My office has successfully represented clients in a variety of different matters, primarily dealing with issues of personal injury and disability for many years throughout Maryland and our philosophy is always to under promise and over deliver so our clients do not have any unrealistic expectations and they always walk away pleased with the quality of the services.

Frequently asked questions

My process begins with an initial intake session, usually done by phone for convenience and efficiency, and I take down relevant information to determine if there is a viable claim or matter that I can formally assist with going forward.  If I determine there is not, I will give detailed advice and explanation so at minimum the customer/potential client gets information, which I firmly believe is crucial in this day and age.  I do not charge for any of my time to just speak by phone or give advice, even if I don't get formally retained for a matter.

I have my law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law and I have received numerous certifications, including mediation, as well as participated in numerous trainings and continuing education courses to allow me to continue honing and crafting my skills and experience.

For all of my personal injury and disability matters, my fees are paid on a contingency basis, meaning my office doesn't get paid unless the matter results in an award/judgment/verdict or settlement.  The percentage of my fee varies from case to case, including certain types of cases that are set by statute, but the percentage can range anywhere from 10% to 40%.  Costs are separately deducted from fees, but are typically advanced by my office and reimbursed out of any award or settlement.  So essentially most of my clients do not pay anything out of pocket to retain my firm

After practicing for several years with other firms after law school, I determined I wanted to work as a solo practitioner to allow me the freedom and flexibility to work with people and represent my clients the best way possible, which particularly includes one-on-one time and attention and always dealing directly with the attorney from the get go.  My passion for practicing law began with a simple desire from an early age- the desire to help people in any way I can.  Sometimes my help comes simply in the form of being a good listening ear or sounding board and other times it's taking a difficult matter through the adversity to achieve a favorable outcome to ensure my clients get the justice they deserve.

All types of customers/clients, children to elderly, men, women, all races, ethnicities, nationalities, religion, various educational and socio-economic levels.  Anyone in need of services I provide is welcome through my door and if they have a valid matter that I can assist with I'm always happy to do so.

A very difficult personal injury matter that nobody else believed in, and everyone thought would not be successful, was recently taken to a jury trial and resulted in a significant verdict for my client.  I am more proud of the effort and journey than the outcome as I persisted in the face of a significant amount of adversity from all sides, including people who normally take these types of cases.

Always thoroughly research a potential pro before engaging them but know that you are not obligated to hire or stay with an attorney after you've hired them as you always have the freedom to choose who you wish to go with at all times.  Also, an attorney is there to serve your needs and you should always be able to speak to them whenever you need to and not be passed off to someone else or have your questions avoided; you also shouldn't have to wait an unreasonable amount of time for a return call or e-mail, unless there is a valid reason.  Lastly, your needs and interests should always be front and center and if an attorney tries to do any differently or put their own agenda first you should look for another.

What type of matter do they have and what type of attorney they need, what their needs, goals and desires are, whether they are comfortable with the terms of representation, etc.
