Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new client?
Meet with the client to discuss what it is they need, then tailor my legal services to provide exactly the legal services they require.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Degree with Honors in History from UMass / Boston, a law degree from Suffolk University Law School, more than 30 years experience practicing law in Massachusetts, the first 15 of those years at Hale and Dorr in Boston (now "WilmerHale").
Do you have a standard pricing system? If so, please share the details here.
I like to "flat fee" my legal services to the extent possible, so that clients aren't surprised by a bill based on an hourly fee. If hourly-fee-billing is appropriate, however, I fully disclose my rate and the estimated time the case will take so they know ahead of time what the legal bill should be.
How did you get started?
As a staff attorney at Hale and Dorr LLP in Boston.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types. Couples, individuals, single people, divorced, widowed, etc.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I helped a client probate her late husband's estate through the courts and saved her hours of work and thousands of $ in expenses. She has told me several times how much she appreciated my work and how much time and money she saved.
