What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start by trying to find out the nature of the dispute. Then I will try to find out the position of each party to the dispute. I will then set up a meeting with all parties so that we can try to find the compromise that works best for all parties. At the meeting I try to find out what is motivating each party so see if there is some way to resolve it to give everyone the maximum benefit. I do this by helping to educate each party to the strengths and weaknesses of their position, and the risks they take if they don't reach an agreement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a law degree from Harvard Law School. I have mediated in many contexts, including for the United States District Court (Massachusetts).
