Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
They call me and either we discuss the case over the phone or, more typically, we schedule an appointment and meet in my office. Then I go to court and either win the case or get them the best possible resolution.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
CEO/Trial Attorney at Larry Forman Law, PLLC 2013–present
Public Defender at Louisville Metro Public Defender's Office (Court Appointed) 2014–2015
Law Clerk at Jefferson County Circuit Court for Honorable McCay Chauvin 2013
Legal Intern at Kentucky Commonwealth's Attorney's Office 2012
Legal Intern at Department Of Public Advocacy 2011–2012
Legal Intern at Jefferson County District Court for Honorable Stephanie Pearce Burke 2011
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Everything is flat fee; pay-over time options available. I accept all major Credit and Debit Cards, Venmo, Paypal, Cash, Certified and Cashier's Checks, Money Orders, Money Grams, Walmart-to-Walmart, and Western Union. I DO NOT accept personal checks.
How did you get started in this business?
Law has always been my passion. I love to help people who are in legal troubles.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All ages and from all walks of life.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a client who was charged with a DUI first offense and his entire life was on the line becaue he was a semi-truck driver. I believed he was innocent based on his story, and we took the case to trial. We ended up getting a not guilty verdict, thus saving his career, his family (he had a 4-year old daughter and wife to take care of) and we have become friends and still are to this day.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
SHOP AROUND. Talk to as many lawyers as you can. I cannot stress this enough. You'll know when you've found the right one. LISTEN to how the lawyer speaks and HOW they phrase their sentences -- which direction are they immediately pulling you in? It'll all be intuitive on your part; no need to overthink things -- You'll FEEL it.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
There is only one: How many trials have you had?
If the answer is zero, move on -- IMMEDIATELY.
Note: I did not say "won," because I have had my fair share of "losses" that were still better than the original offer. That is always a WIN.
