Dorjath Law Center
About
We take a holistic approach to helping our clients and their families. We have a saying that "your life story matters" and this gets to the heart of what makes us different. We get to know everything that we can about your situation and how you reached the point where you need legal assistance. We know this makes for better outcomes and allows for an integrated approach to solutions. At other firms you will get a few moments with the attorney and then often you are moved off to work with other support staff. At the Dorjath Law Center you can be assured that you will always be able to speak with Nancie. She will provide the personal attention that you need and deserve. Plus, the vast majority of what we do is done on a flat fee basis. No hidden costs! No surprises at the end,
I started my law center to provide legal help to seniors, military veterans and all families in a dignified, honest and friendly manner. My clients are like extended members of our own family, and we are dedicated to providing the answers and help that you need.
Whether your needs are; Long Term Care Planning, Nursing Home or Assisted/Supportive Living, Nursing Home Contract Review, Medicaid Crisis Planning, Medicaid Appeals, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Wills, Living Wills, Powers of Attorney, Asset Protection Planning, Probate or Special Needs Planning, we are ready to offer compassionate guidance and legal advice. I love meeting people, getting to know them and then working to assist in any way that I can!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We usually start with a free 15 minute phone call to assess the situation. We follow this up by sending out a questionnaire and some material for the client on the particular area of law involved in their situation. Follow that up with an in-person appointment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Attorney with over 20 years of experience in Elder law and Estate Planning. With the background in Elder Law I can plan for younger clients with an eye towards the future, helping to create documetns that will last and not having them have to return over and over to an attorney's office! I also have experience teaching in the medical community at local hospitals. Also on staff as an adjunct professor at College of DuPage and Concordia Universsity.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Most all we do (unless involving trips to court for things like Guardinaship cases) are flat fee. No surprises and customer like knowing the cost up front!
How did you get started in this business?
Out of law school worked in the real estate field and then moved to Estate Planning. I went back to learn Elder Law after caring for my own grandparent(s) and I really have a passion for families!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I like to say if people are 18 and breathing, they need legal representation and they need estate planning documents! I work with all ages and so many different iindividuals. I love the diversity!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Interview at least two or three potential attorneys. Ask questions. Ask what makes them different. Ask about service standards and make sure that the "fit" is right. DO NOT just hire anyone!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Sometimes clients do not know the law so this is not an easy question to answer. I suggest just being yourself and talking through the situation with the attorney. Hire someone who really wnat to know your story and who really wants to work with you individually to create targeted, customized documents.
