The Center for Self-Actualization, located in Evergreen Park, IL, offers Counseling and Yoga toward wellness of mind and body. Founded by Dr. Tammy Bobel, Counseling Psychologist and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, The Center for Self-Actualization treats all ages; everything from stress and adjustment disorders to anxiety, depression, and more severe psychological issues. We use treatment modalities that best suit the unique individual; cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation/meditation, trauma informed treatment, etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In order to get started with counseling service, please fill out "New Client Paperwork" online at www.forSelfActualization.com. Our office will contact you to scheudle your first appointment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a doctorate in counseling psychology and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, licensed in the state of Illinois.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our per session fee is $150. We are in-network with BCBS PPO, can bill other insurance plans as an out-of-network provider, and offer a sliding scale for clients whose insurance does not cover counseling services.
How did you get started in this business?
I believe that mental health is as important as physical health, and should be available to all! So, in 2009, I established The Center for Self-Actualization to make mental health care available to Evergreen Park and surrounding communities.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The Center for Self-Actualization has served clients ages 3 through 83, and can help with any troublesome thought patterns, distressful feelings or concerning behaviors.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
You should feel comfortable with your therapist! If you are uncomfortable with any part of the therapeutic process, express your concerns to your therapist.
