Our firm helps clients by creating and keeping current many different types of trusts, wills, deeds, Transfer on death instruments, powers of attorney for health care and powers of attorney for property. (We also help clients with probate estates for people who are legally disabled,people that pass on, and minors.) Our offices are conveniently located in Cook County (3255 N Arlington Heights Road, Suite 507, Arlington Heights) and in Lake County (100 S. Saunders Road, Suite 150, Lake Forest IL.) We work with clients of all ages, whether its for a review of your current documents, an update or creation of new documents. We are here to listen and help.
A GOOD tip: People who have not yet planned for their families and people concerned with updating those plans that are in place. We also assist family members who need a guardianship for a loved one, surviving spouses and family members needing representation in Probate Court, people needing to transfer assets according to the terms of wills and trusts, and people who want to create special needs trusts.
I love helping people get their wishes and plans in order and to help them, where possible and desirable, avoid the probate court system.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We review information with one or two intake calls. Often it makes sense for everyone to have a consultation in my office. Once the issues are reviewed customers can choose to pay just for the consultation or I can be retained to move forward and draft documents.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two law degrees, a Juris Doctor and A Master of Laws in Taxation.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Most work is hourly at $400 per hour. Some services are flat fees as well, including the initial consulation at $325.00 for one hour.
How did you get started in this business?
I began working as a law clerk in Chicago and then I was employed as General Counsel for three different corporations; after I earned my Masters in Taxation I began working in a private law firm in Des Plaines. I branched out on my own in 1992 and continue to practice in Chicago and the collar counties.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with large Corporations, closely held smaller businesses and families.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoyed working with some of my clients to collect all assets from a deceased relative, properly distribute the assets and work with the clients and other referred professionals to assist them with planning for their own lives.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Try and speak directly with the attorney you want to work with so you determine if you feel comfortable moving forward with that attorney and you feel good that the attorney you pick has the expertise you seek.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What are your personal goals? Do you understand that there are not just legal factors but many other factors to consider? Are you willing to spend some money to fulfil your personal goals, and if so how much?
