New Heights Counseling Resources Inc.
About
I love connecting with people and using that connection to create positive, sustaining change. Most of us struggle to be honest and genuine and end up living behind a facade which ultimately prevents us from connecting with others. When I get to see people shed those layers and just be themselves, it's a pretty special moment.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During the initial meeting, the hour is spent exploring what brought the client in and gathering general background information (sleeping and eating habits, mental health history, general family information, etc). From there, the next steps are focused on building rapport and going in a direction the client believes would be most helpful.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been working in the mental health field for over thirteen years, six of which as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Prior to being an LMHC I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa where I receieved a BA in psychology (2010) and a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2014).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Rates for services are generally set each invidividuals insurance. If you have insurance, any out of pocket expenses depend on the insurance plan you have.
How did you get started in this business?
In college I began working with people with disabilities, mental illnesses, traumatic brain injuries, and developmental delays while studying psychology. I was fortunate to fall in love with both the academic side as well as the hands-on, interpersonal side. With time, I realized pursuing a career in counseling would allow me to best utilize my strengths while making a positive impact in the lives of others.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My specialties include working with children, adolescents, adults, and families who experience: anxiety, depression, truama, ADHD, behavioral issues, low self-esteem, relationship problems, self-injury, substance use, and more.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find a therapist you click with! Having a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the biggest factors in creating an environment for meaningful change to happen.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I love when clients ask what the counseling process will look like and what approaches I use. I think it's also important to know what the counselor's specialties and limitations are.
