Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to initially speak to the client on the telephone or through a videoconference platform to get a more complete understanding of the facts. I will then give my prospective client an honest assessment of whether they have an actionable claim. If an actionable claim exists, the costs or pursuing that claim have to be discussed. I will offer my opinion on whether the law, as applied to the facts provided, present a claim worthwhile of pursuing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a seasoned litigator with a wide range of experience in various areas of civil litigation. After graduating law school in the top 20% of my class, I began working with one of the most prestigious civil defense firms in Birmingham, Alabama, getting experience in everything from workers compensation to insurance coverage and bad faith denials of insurance claims, construction litigation, product liabiity, mass torts, qui tam ("whistleblower" litigation) general contract matters, automobile accident defense, and miscellaneous other torts. I then moved home to Atlanta to work with another prestigious insurance defense / commercial litigation firm before turning to my current passion, representing the injured or aggrieved parties victimized by the actions of others. I am intimately familiar with the tactics used by the defense side, particularly insurance companies, to wear down the parties who are rightfully pursuing monetary damages or other relief.
