After my father passed away I discovered his WILL was not valid. Imagine my dismay on top of my sadness. His Will had been prepared by a prominent attorney, but that was 25 years prior. It was signed by witnesses but not notarized. Laws DO change, now requiring witness signature be notarized too.
If you don't have a Will, GET ONE SOON! It's a free service with Legal Shield membership. If you or or your parents have a will more than 10 years old, HAVE AN ATTORNEY take a quick look to make sure it's still good TODAY (Also a free membership service).

When you need to talk to an attorney, are you overwhelmed by the thousands of attorney firms in your area? How do you decide which one is right? LegalShield has hundreds of educated and experienced attorneys. They choose the right attorney based on your current situation or question.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
In the case of Legal advice, it's often the attorney who can TELL YOU those questions. If you're going to sign a legal document full of legal speak many of us can't always interpret fully, have an attorney review it FOR YOU. This is also a free service with a Legal Shield membership (documents over 10 pages may incurr a fee). I've used this several times, the piece of mind is terrific. A few times I decided NOT to sign or asked for a modified contract.
