Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Free initial consultation. The issues are analyzed, all questions are answered, and a potential outcome prediction is given if possible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I Have a law degree from Mercer University and have been practicing both personal injury and criminal defense since 1997.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
For automobile accident cases, my fees are based on the standard Florida contigency fee schedule and I adjust it downward in appropriate cases. In criminal defense cases my fee depends on the severity of the charge, the intricacy of the case, and the exposure to incarceration. I take all factors into consideration and will gladly work out a payment plan that suits the client's ability to pay.
How did you get started in this business?
Ever since I was a kid, the law facinated me. I dreamed of becoming a judge one day. As my practice has developed that dream keeps getting put off because I love helping clients too much.
What types of customers have you worked with?
In the past 20+ years, I have helped clients from all walks of life in many different ways. My clients have ranged from doctors, lawyers, big business people and their family members to the homeless and those incarcerated for over 23 years. I have helped injured people set themselves up for the rest of their lives and have commuted the sentence of those incarcerated for many years.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently negotiated a case where my client was in a minor accident and suffered soft tissue, whiplash style injuries that resulted in my client receiving $265,000.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure to speak to an attorney personally and have he or she educate you on the issues surrounding your case. So many people hire attorneys based on commercials and never even get to speak to the professional they hire.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
In automobile accident cases, the victims should ask questions about the damage to their vehicle, they should know their insurance coverage and that of the at-fault party, and they should seek medical attention specialized in their type of injury. In criminal cases, the accused should know the exact charges and the maximum penalties that may be imposed on them by a judge. Then they should be concerned with their attorney defending their rights and looking to cure their problem rather than just putting a bandaid on the wound.
