There are no upfront fees on personal injury cases. The fee on personal injury cases is 28% of the settlement amount for cases resolved without the need to file a lawsuit. This is less than the typical 33 1/3 percent typically charged by attorneys. The fee on a criminal cases depends on the case. I will typically charge $1500 for a misdemeanor (first dui, petit theft, possession of marijuana, assault, driving on a suspended license and some domestic violence cases). On felony cases, I typically charge $3,000.00 on a simple drug possession case and more on second and first degree felonies.
