Mr. Maus is a Florida native practicing law in South Florida since 1993.  He currently limits his practice to the areas of serious car accident claims, and homeowner property damage claims.

Mr. Maus has been “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell since 2004.  An “AV” rating is the highest rating awarded for professional ability and adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics.  Mr. Maus has also been recognized since 2011 by Florida Trend Magazine as one of Florida’s Legal Elite in the area of civil trial.

Mr. Maus began his career at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office as a Felony Trial Prosecutor.   In his last year as a Prosecutor, he obtained guilty verdicts in 20 of his last 21 jury trials. 

Mr. Maus has tried over 60 jury trials to verdict and has litigated claims throughout Florida.  Mr. Maus has successfully argued before the 3rd and 4th District Courts of Appeals, The United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.  He is currently admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and all Florida State Courts. 

Mr. Maus is a member of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute and the Fort Lauderdale Mariners Club.  He previously served as the Mayor of the City of Oakland Park, and also served for three years on the City Commission.  Mr. Maus served on the Broward County Charter Review Committee, the Broward County Planning Council and the County’s Resource Recovery Board, having been appointed by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. He is also the former President of The Hundred Club of Broward County, a non-profit group that supports the families of police officers and firefighters killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
