About
Please see my website at www.pdclawoffice.com.
I practice in MARYLAND only. I have the ability to practice in DC. Please do not contact me from other states. I am not active in California only because I no longer live in that area and it is not practical. However, I am barred in California, with the ability to return to that practice at will.
I have a passion for helping my clients in family law matters, juvenile defense and criminal defense.
My practice is results oriented, supported with practical, effective and proven legal methods to help you achieve success. I have over 25 years practice. I'm a former Prosecutor and large law firm skilled trial attorney. As a former trial attorney, my success rate is extremely high. I have practiced with success in every court in the State of Maryland: the District Court, Circuit Court, the Court of Special Appeals and the Court of Appeals. I am also an effective and sought after mediator, with an over 99% success rate, and a skilled negotiator on your behalf. I want to help you today, so you can put this legal business behind you as quickly as possible while still meeting your desired goal and get on with the more important business of enjoying your life and moving forward.
From our first meeting to the end of our case together, my goal is to make sure you understand the process, so that you can make informed decisions with your options, while I provide legal counsel to you and simoultaneously advocate zealously on your behalf to make sure you are protected until we reach a successful conclusion of your case.
I was nominated as a Best Attorney in Family Law by What's UP Annapolis Magazine, a few years ago.
I have a very good AVVO rating.
To date, my clients have strictly been referrals from other very satisfied clients with little to no paid marketing on my behalf.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I initially like to talk briefly on the phone to get as much information about the case as possible. After that we schedule a meeting to review the process and start preparing whatever documents we need to prepare and get ready for trial and/or negotiations.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to an excellent law school, American University in Washington D.C., where I was a member of the criminal justice clinic and had my first (successful jury trial) as a student in Montgomery County through the public defender's office. I was employed as an Assistant State's Attorney for several years and had many trials in very serious matters including felony sexual assaults, robbery, attempted murder, domestic violence, DWI/DUI, and many other areas. I worked as a trial attorney in all circuit courts in Maryland for Semmes Bowen and Semmes, a prestigious law firm, where I won almost every trial in employment matters. I have over 150 hours of family law mediation training.
How did you get started in this business?
I went into the practice of law to help people.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with all types of people, from all walks of life and I like it that way.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you hire someone who actually cares about what they are doing, who has a passion for helping you. I do. Trust your instincts. Even life experience matters.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Figure out exactly what you want before you call. Or at least try to. If you can't, we'll figure it out together. In some cases, you may not even have enough information to understand your options. Part of the stress of process is not understanding what is going on, and my goal is to at least make sure that doesn't add to the stress of simply having the case in the first place. It will all work out.
