Libby Stofik-Edgren, LMFT

Hello! I am a Marriage and Family Therapist. I have an office in Stamford at the Stamford Counseling Center and I provide in-home sessions in the New Haven County region. I help clients achieve their desired goals working either individually or within a couple or family dynamic.

Some of the treatment topics I have experience with include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, eating disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss, couples counseling, divorce counseling and general interpersonal relationship difficulties. Therapy sessions are specifically tailored to your needs and desires through a collaborative approach.

I aspire to a style of therapy that my clients hopefully find comforting and progressive. I draw from several different therapy models and techniques in order to provide you with the best tools and guidance. Improving your interpersonal relationships and private goals is an investment in your happiness and I appreciate being able to help you thrive emotionally and personally.

I also truly treasure and enjoy the chance to work with clients who have had combat and military service related post traumatic stress. Working with them and their families to try to restore a sense of balance, normalcy and control for them is extremely rewarding and one of my niches.

I enjoy watching my clients achieve their goals and wrapping up therapy feeling confident they can continue their journey successfully beyond the therapy we have done together.
